Fort Gordon Cyber District: The Business & Community Connection

The Cyber District of the CSRA represents a two-state, seven-county regional economic development and attraction initiative that supports defense and private sector technology innovation and growth.
 
Tom Clark of the CSRA Alliance for Fort Gordon will present an update on the current happenings and future plans as the greater Augusta area becomes nationally recognized as a destination for cyber work, life and play.
 


Command Sergeant Major (retired) Tom Clark was born in Danville, Pennsylvania, graduating from Columbia Montour Vocational-Technical School in 1980 and enlisted in the Army Signal Corps that same year.  He served over 32 years in the Army, culminating his service as the Army’s Signal Regimental Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army Signal Center and Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia.  He retired from active duty in March of 2011. He spent five years serving as a Training Manager for General Dynamics (GD) Mission Systems on Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. He is currently the executive director of the Alliance for Fort Gordon.
 
As the executive director for the Alliance for Fort Gordon, he promotes, coordinates, and advocates for the “Fort Gordon Cyber District” to stimulate investment in cyber growth and capitalize on opportunities for the benefit of all.
 
As a Training Manager and government liaison for General Dynamics, he served as the primary liaison to the military and the greater Augusta community. He directly interfaced with the Cyber Center of Excellence on emerging learning strategies, operational goals, new equipment fielding, and Chief of Signal objectives.
