In honor of Black History Month, the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce has invited Reverend Dr. George L. Brightharp, owner, G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, the oldest minority-owned business in Downtown North Augusta to speak on life in North Augusta as a minority.
Reverend Dr. George Brightharp will discuss being born and raised in North Augusta and relationships he’s cultivated over the years with other business owners and community leaders. He will also be discussing his start as a minority entrepreneur and how the social climate 40 years ago impacted the opening of his business.
Reverend Dr. George L. Brightharp is a former educator and published author. He received his Bachelor & Master’s Degrees from A&T College, an Education Specialist Degree in Counseling from the University of South Carolina – Columbia and Ph.D. (A.B.D.) in Political Science from Atlanta University. He has served as a public school educator, college professor and high school guidance counselor in three different states over the course of 38 years. Dr. Brightharp has served on several boards and in multiple capacities within the community and surrounding areas. He is the current pastor of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church in Trenton, SC.

$20 General Registration (members) Cancellation Policy: Due to obligations to the venue and catering, we will not be able to honor cancellations for this event. However, you may send a guest in your place as a substitute. Please notify us by emailing Admin@northaugustachamber.org prior to the event. NO SHOWS WILL BE BILLED.
