GOOD MORNING, NORTH AUGUSTA!
(FORMERLY A.M. CONNECTION)
BIG IDEAS/BRIGHT FUTURES
The North Augusta Chamber’s breakfast series has a new name, new format and new venue!
BIG IDEAS/BRIGHT FUTURES is the topic for the first event of the newly rebranded series. Students from Paul Knox Middle, North Augusta Middle and North Augusta Robotics will all be highlighted as they each present recently award-winning ideas.
Paul Knox Middle and North Augusta Middle were both recent winners at the South Carolina Future City competition, with Paul Knox taking first place and North Augusta Middle taking third place. The Future City Competition is a national program sponsored by DiscoverE (formerly known as National Engineers Week Foundation) to promote technological literacy and engineering to middle school students. The 2015-2016 Future City Essay Topic was "Waste Not, Want Not” and students faced the challenge of designing an innovative city-wide solid waste disposal system for their Future City that is safe, environmentally sound and energy efficient. Two North Augusta Robotics Teams, Won & Done, and Chabotic, recently won titles at the state championships held in Gaffney, S.C. These two teams will now participate in the Super-Regionals to be held March 9-11 in San Antonio, Texas.
Don't miss this fantastic event!
