(M) 2024 Military Long Drive
The 2024 Military Long Drive Championship (MLDC)
A Long Drive Qualifier Competition sanctioned by the World Long Drive Association (WLDA) is a one-day competition held at 12 Army golf courses.
Location: Various Army Golf Courses including Fort Eisenhower. (winners proceed to Fort Jackson)
Championship Event: Televised at Fort Jackson
Open to:
Active-Duty Service Members (All Branches)
Retired, Reserve and National/Coast Guard members.
Service-Related Disabled Veterans
Age Requirement: 18+ with valid ID
Cost: $25 per attempt (eight balls)
Multiple Attempts: Allowed, pending time availability.
Rules:
Personal Time: Active-Duty participants must compete on personal time.
Attempts: $25 entry fee covers one attempt of eight drives.
Additional Attempts: Can be purchased until event closure.
Drive Completion: Eight drives back-to-back.
Equipment: USGA-approved drivers (max 48 inches).
Scoring: Only drives within the grid are recorded. Drives outside the grid score zero.
Winner: Longest drive of the day wins. Ties resolved with a three-attempt tie breaker.
Leave Requirement: Active-Duty participants must take regular leave to attend the championship at Fort Jackson.
Local Installation Prizes:
1st Place: $500 Pro Shop gift certificate + expense-paid trip to compete at MLDC at Fort Jackson, SC (Date TBD)
2nd Place: $200 Golf Pro Shop Gift Certificate
3rd Place: $100 Golf Pro Shop Gift Certificate
