(M) Joye in Aiken Jazz Explosion Concert
Once again Joye in Aiken celebrates the opening of its Summer Jazz Camp with a concert by its five stellar faculty members! Don’t miss this chance to see:
Trumpeter Riley Mulherkar, Joye in Aiken’s brilliant Artistic Director and the 2020 recipient of Lincoln Center’s prestigious Emerging Artist Award;
Percussionist and vocalist Bryan Carter, the multi-talented winner of a 2023 Tony Award for his orchestration of the musical “Some Like It Hot” on Broadway;
Aiken’s favorite pianist Mathis Picard, who began playing the piano at the age of three and works with superstars such as Christian McBride, Veronica Swift, Etienne Charles, and Wynton Marsalis;
GRAMMY-winning LA-based bassist and composer Dan Chmielinski, well-known for his Hollywood film scores as well as his live performances and his wildly popular YouTube channel; and
Young saxophonist Jade Elliott, who has been creating a sensation in LA jazz circles since she was in high school.
If you’re a jazz fan, this will be the most fun you can have this summer! And by attending, you help support the Joye in Aiken Outreach Program and the Summer Jazz Camp.
