Recently relocating to the SouthEast after living in NYC since 1987, Ed Fuqua has appeared with groups at the JVC Jazz Festival, the Highlights In Jazz series by Jack Kleisinger and performed in manyhistorical jazz venues (Birdland, Lenox Lounge, Angry Squire, Village Gate, Sweet Rhythm, Danny’s Skylight Room) as well as newer spots (Knitting Factory, Karavan, Kavehaz, Augie’s, Small’s, Fat Cat).He has worked with established jazz luminaries like Dakota Staton, Frank Gant, Bernard Purdie, Eliot Zigmund, Rich Perry and Jimmy Lovelace, as well as up and coming “young lions” like Leon Parker, Dave Berkman, Randy Johnston, Doug Raney, Jacob Sacks, Dan Weiss and Tatum Greenblatt. He is the author of the Sher Music Publication book WALKING BASSICS: The Fundamentals of Jazz Bass Playing and appears as bassist on the play-a-long CD to the Sher Music Publication THE BLUES SCALES: Essential Tools for Jazz Improvisation by Dan Greenblatt.

Nick Vlandis - He received his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of South Carolina, where he studied jazz piano under Bert Ligon and classical piano under Phillip Bush. Nicholas has been actively engaged in the South Carolina music scene since 2015 when he began performing with local Myrtle Beach party and cover bands. Since then, he has dedicated his time to becoming an avid music lover, performer, and teacher of all genres, although he has found quite a warm and happy home in jazz music.

Xavier Breaker - Drummer, composer and arranger, Xavier has played with various artists throughout his career including Joe Sample, Randy Crawford, Howard Hewitt, Lalah Hathaway, Ernie Watts, Joey DeFrancesco, Bob Mintzer, Brad Leali, and Jonathan Scales. He has also played for some of Chicago’s finest including Corey Wilkes, Kahil El Zabar, Dee Alexander, Chicago Jazz Orchestra, Chicago Yestet, Sidewalk Chalk, and many others. The Xavier Breaker Coalition was formed in 2013 as an effort to design a group that can thrive in a variety of musical situations. The Coalition opened for many groups, including Brian Auger's Oblivion Express and HBC (Scott Henderson, Jeff Berlin, Dennis Chambers). They have been featured in many festivals including the Chicago Jazz Festival and have been the firstcall house band for the Keilworth "Saxophone Idol" competition since 2013. The Coalition released their debut album, "Dreamology," in 2015. Xavier endorses Paiste.

Tim Leahey - began studying the trumpet at the age of 6 and has been performing professionally since the age of nine. Originally from Altoona, Pennsylvania, he performed with the Altoona Symphony and the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant Orchestra while still in high school.Tim attended Youngstown State University from 1986-1991 and studied with Esotto Pellegrini, Susan Sexton and Tony Leonardi. In 1991, he was named Intercollegiate Musician of the Year, as well as winning first place in the International Trumpet Guild jazz improvisation competition. Since that time, Tim has performed with such artists as Rosemary Clooney, Dick Oatts, Cecil Payne, James Williams, the Brecker Brothers, The Temptations, Frankie Valli and many others, as well as performing on occasion with such noted big bands as the Tonight Show Orchestra under the direction of Doc Severinson, the Woody Herman Orchestra, the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Guy Lombardo Orchestra.

Peter Dimery’s journey to becoming a gifted tenor saxophonist began thanks to his mother. “I’d wanted to play an instrument, but I didn’t know which one I was going to pick,” he says. “My mom said, ‘I like saxophone,’ so I gave it a shot, and I fell in love with it.” Specifically, Dimery fell in love with the versatility of the tenor sax and became skilled at handling contemporary classical music along with soul and jazz. Ultimately, jazz gained a slight advantage over the other genres because Dimery discovered John Coltrane in his teens. “Coltrane became THE thing I was grasping for,” he says. “The first couple of records I heard were Blue Train and Giant Steps, and I obsessed over those album for the longest time.”A former student of Dr. Matt Olson, he has performed with the Paladin Regiment Marching Band, Furman Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Bergman Saxophone Quartet, Jazz Combo and Furman Jazz Ensemble. In the spring of 2013, he was a Concerto Competition winner and performed with the Furman Symphony Orchestra.
