Consumer Loan Operations Supervisor

Under the general direction of the Consumer Loan Operations Manager, ensures that the SRP FCU lien position is secured and maintained on collateralized consumer loans. Supervises collateral specialists in their daily functions and is responsible for training new hires in the position. Also ensures file vault functions are completed. Responsible for maintaining updated state title policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members. Credit Union services are to be promoted using the "member benefit-based approach".
•    Fully complies with the requirements of all Credit Union policies, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and OFAC Policies.
•    Trains collateral specialists in their job functions and monitors their individual progress. 
•    Ensures collateral-related functions have adequate backup.
•    Ensures that the file vault responsibilities are completed.
•    Communicates to credit union employees on current title policies and procedures.
•    Assist with the creation and maintenance of departmental procedures.
•    Reviews the report of outstanding titles and works towards resolution.
•    Communicates directly with the motor vehicle divisions in various states on specific title resolution.
•    Keeps management updated on major title cases.
•    Supervises communications with insurance companies in obtaining proper documentation for payoffs on total losses, GAP claims, and mechanical breakdown insurance refunds.  Files total loss, Gap, and Gap Advantage claims.
•    Processes/disburses employees’ and volunteers’ loans under strict confidentiality.  Maintains Credit Union employee and volunteer loan files
•    Handles disputes received through E-Oscar
•    Processes claims related to Life and Disability Insurance
•    Responsible for managing CPI billing files, processing add-ons, and handling refunds
•    In response to various audit and examination requests, assists management in the review of collateral records.
•    Assist in filing and maintaining UCC records.
•    Assist in reconciliation of the UCC filing fee general ledger as needed.
•    May be assigned other tasks by the appropriate line supervision.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise 4 or more collateral specialist in the Consumer Loan Operations department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field. 7 years of related experience required, up to 5 years preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook Email /Calendar and Internet Explorer software. Experience with Meridian Link or another consumer loan system preferred.

Regularly required to stand; use hands or fingers, touch or feel and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb and balance. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Regularly required to listen and interpret information received through spoken words and sentences in person and by the phone and accessed via the computer. Regularly required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand both in person, on the phone and via the computer. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
