AIKEN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS ANNOUNCES KIMBRA MEEK AS DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 21, 2025

With more than two decades of experience within Aiken County Public Schools, Kimbra Meek was named as the District’s Director of Administration for the 2025-26 school year.
A 22-year veteran of ACPSD, Meek has served the district in a wide range of roles from special education teacher to assistant principal, and most recently, as principal of North Augusta Middle School. Her appointment reflects both her deep commitment to students and her exceptional leadership across multiple levels of school operations.

“This new role represents an incredible opportunity to serve Aiken County on a broader scale,” she said “I’m honored to expand my support of our schools and contribute to the district’s continued growth and success. Personally, it’s fulfilling to continue giving back to a community I hold in such high regard.”

Meek began her career in education as a special education teacher in 2003, after serving with distinction as a law enforcement officer and game warden. Her transition into education was fueled by a passion for service, and she quickly became a trusted leader within the district. As Assistant Principal (2014-2018) and later Principal of North Augusta Middle School (2018-2025), she guided her team to sustained improvement, earning multiple accolades, including three consecutive “Good” overall ratings and “Excellent” ratings for school climate on the South Carolina School Report Card.

In her new role, Meek will provide oversight across administrative functions, support school leaders, and serve as a key liaison with state and local agencies. Her operational knowledge, collaborative leadership style, and ability to build strong relationships will be invaluable in advancing the district’s strategic goals.

“Each step of my journey from teacher to principal has prepared me for this next chapter,” Meek shared. “I’m most excited about the opportunity to collaborate with school leaders and community partners to ensure we’re creating strong, student-centered learning environments across every school.”

Meek holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of Nebraska (2012) and a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the University of South Carolina Aiken (1998). A nominee for ACPSD Principal of the Year, she is an active member of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators and a committed participant in statewide leadership development initiatives.

She has served in her new role since early July, while also supporting the leadership transition underway at North Augusta Middle (NAMS).
